The Alabama Worth Fighting For: An Evening With John Pavlovitz
We are thrilled to announce that renowned pastor, author, and activist, John Pavlovitz, is making his long-awaited return to Huntsville, AL on Saturday, February 25, 2023!
The current state of politics, especially here in Alabama, can be (and is) disheartening for many. We made some incredible strides in the 2022 election, but it can still feel like we’re fighting a losing battle. If you, too, have felt discouraged by the recent election outcomes and want to learn how we can move forward—collectively—toward progress, then we invite you to join us for an event we’re calling “The Alabama Worth Fighting For: An Evening With John Pavlovitz.”
The event will be held at the UAH Charger Union Theatre (4705 Holmes Ave NW, Huntsville, AL 35899), starting at 7:00 PM. We will kick it off with a panel of some of our amazing 2022 candidates and political consultants (moderated by Commissioner Violet Edwards) with a discussion on lessons learned, how to stay engaged in the process, and what success looks like in the short and long term for progressive politics in Alabama. The panel will then be followed by a conversation with John Pavlovitz that will provide a big-picture view about the nation that is and could be, why good people matter now more than ever, and why we can’t afford to give up. The event will then conclude with a short Q&A and book signing with John.
There are also tickets available for a separate VIP reception that will be held before the event from 5:00-6:30 PM which will include heavy hors d’oeuvres, wine, a meet-and-greet with John Pavlovitz, and entry to the event.
